My latest trip was Butuan which is part of Mindanao Philippines. I only went there for a day to accompany my mom on a business trip. But still, it was my first time to be in that part of the Philippines.

First Plane Ride
We left at dawn so it was pretty dark when the plan had ascended. I had a beautiful view of the twinkling lights of city which made me feel like I was above the stars. I realize how fast the plan was going to be able to take us so high up in just a few minutes. After a few more minutes, we were hovering over islands and watching the sun rise.
The Green Green Grass of Butuan
As we neared Butuan, I was doubting the existence of their airport. I looked over the window and found... no signs of buildings or roads and we were already descending. I was really surprised when we landed on the runway. When I went out of the plan, it was just lush greenery everywhere. I think the airport building and the runway were the only signs of civilization. Although alter on, we went to the city area and found out I was wrong.
Of Palm Trees and Mango Orchards
Our host was a very accomodating woman who was a retired teacher. We were treated like VIP guests. We went to a Mango Orchard which reached to several hectars and on the other side of the hill were the Palm Trees. It was a beautiful sight to see carefully lined palm trees. To think they can be used as biofueld, amazing huh. Then there were the mango trees... Too bad it wasn't harvest time. Mango is my favorite fruit after all.

All in all, I had a fun time climbing hills, watching the vast rice fields, eating Pomelo and drinking fresh coconut juice.
Pictures to follow when I get home as that's where my files are. :p
